Montalvo has mounted solo exhibitions and participated in group shows at galleries, coffee shops, bookstores, and community fairs across Kansas City.

Their exhibitions draw on {B/qKC} to bring Black queer midwestern history into physical and public space beyond institutional walls—making the past tangible and more readily accessible.
