Journalists of Color Fellowship | Solutions Journalism Network

Grant, Learning Lab
2024

It was an immense honor to be selected as part of the second cohort of the Journalists of Color Fellowship with the Solutions Journalism Network. Through this program, 10 of us trained in solutions journalism and nonprofit newsroom leadership, and were able to travel to Charlotte, NC to engage in an incubator session for our newsroom’s growth.

“The JOC Fellowship is designed to identify and support a cohort of next-generation leaders whose work has direct relevance to, and impact on, communities that have been historically disadvantaged, particularly communities of color. Fellows receive professional development centered on solutions journalism and leadership training, with support from mentors and a community of practice.”

“This opportunity is a testament to Nasir’s unwavering commitment to Black liberation and innovative editorial philosophy.”
